Details

(Keywords: meta, Whiteboard: [necko-backlog])

Recently, I have received more than one query about IPv6 from groups or
organizations.

Please link any IPv6 bugs to this bug, so there is one central list.

If you have comments that would help (websites, good books, tools, etc) please
put them here.

NOTE: Please, no debates about the urgency, importance, or need for IPv6.

If you are a group or individual interested in helping, contributing, a brief
statement to that effect would be acceptable.

I'm going to try to find someone who can comment here about the general state of
the product.

Mozilla 1.6 doesn't resolve IPv6 adresses and falls back to IPv4 adress. For
example, going to http://www.kame.net connects you in IPv4 while
http://[2001:200:0:8002:203:47ff:fea5:3085]( which is the IPv6 address of
kame.net ) connects you in IPv6 .

This also affects 1.7 as well. It has also propogated to derivate works,
specifically firefox and camino.

When installing a plugin using IPV6 address the 'allow website' display does not
add IPv6 address correctly. If the website is say 2002:92a:8f7a:20:9:42:81:231
only 2002 is added to the list of acceptable websites.
sailaja,

please file a new bug for that issue and make it block this bug. thanks!
