In order to land the layers refactoring we will have to make some compromises and land a code that is not pretty but works.

this bug will track work that has to be done in order to get there.

I can't be bothered to file a bug for it, but I don't want to forget, so I'm putting it here.

There is something a little broken about images, presumably about their position.

Check out http://www.nzherald.co.nz/ and hover over the images or headline links for the news stories and look at the images wobble. That shouldn't happen (doesn't on trunk).

This caused perma-orange for all b2g reftest chunks (timeout after 330 seconds with no output):
e.g. https://tbpl.mozilla.org/php/getParsedLog.php?id=21637336&tree=Mozilla-Inbound

Unfortunately they're hidden so it wasn't caught earlier.
