This is a tracking bug for issues/bugs that need to be release noted in Mozilla 1.0.1 release. Changes and additions to the Mozilla 1.0.1 Release Notes can be submitted here. **DO NOT put Bugscape (commercial) bugs here.**
93002: [distribution]Conn: Use dialup networking (.DUN) when launching mozilla. The current plan is to turn on this feature in the trunk and off in the 1.0 branch. smeredith: would provide the release note about the autodial behavior and required user settings.
Bugzilla 66391: Filtering mail from a POP3 account into an IMAP folder is not supported. The mail application does not prevent you from creating such filters, but they will not work (no filtering action will occur).
Bug 138092: The mailing list dialog box says you can drag email addresses from the address book to add them to a mailing list, but you cannot. You must type email addresses to add them to the mailing list.
Bug 153943: Filter Rules dialog in Mail appears truncated on the right side until you manually resize it.
Composer:Bug 136912: Context menus don't work in any editable menu lists. Right-clicking does not display the context menu, as it should. For example, if you try to paste a link in the link location field in Composer's Link Properties dialog box, you will not be able to use the context menu "Paste" item to do this. Instead, use Ctrl+V (Command+V on Mac OS) to paste the link.
Composer: Bug 156173: Save Image As command doesn't work in Composer. The workaround is to browse the page you're editing, and then right-click on the image you want to save, and then choose Save Image As from the context menu that appears.
MailNews known issues -- bug 127141: Moving or copying a labeled message will not retain label in destination when filing across accounts: 1. Cross account IMAP-->any other account (including Local Folders) loses label. 2. Cross account POP-->POP (including Local Folders) is OKAY. 3. Cross account POP-->IMAP loses label. 4. Copy News-->any account loses label.
Download Manager ---------------- bug 155429: Mac OS X only - Some entries in the download manager window appear blank. This is likely due to the filename being over 31 chars in length. Workaround: Change the filename to something shorter than 31 chars --or, if keeping the same name, you'll need to quit and restart the app to see the entries in the download manager window. bug 157491: If you experience delays in the browser while trying to download a file (eg, 5-10 sec before a mouseclick does anything), try removing the downloads.rdf file located in your profile directory. The profiles are typically located: Linux: in ~/.mozilla/ Win32 (at least on Win2k): Documents and Settings\[your username]\Application Data\Mozilla\Profiles\ Mac OS X: in ~/Library/Mozilla/Profiles/ Mac OS 9.x: [system partition]/Documents/Mozilla/Profiles/
General downloading/file saving issues: bug 28385, bug 147254: No alert is displayed if the user exits the application (or, closes all other application windows) while downloads are occurring. Workaround: wait for all downloads to complete before exiting. bug 84106: Mozilla does not correctly retrieve post data when saving a page or frame generated from a form POST. bug 126782: Binary file with unknown type displayed as text/plain rather than saved. bug 155254 - Mac OS: .html extension not added when saving files w/long names (on OS 9.x, it's limited to 31 chars, on OS X it's 255 chars). Workaround: use a shorter filename. bug 142664: Sometimes a modal dlg asking for a floppy cannot be canceled. Workaround: insert floppy, remove *all* entries in the Download Manager window, eject floppy, close Download Manager window. bug 130993: Shift+click (or Option+click on Mac) to save a file saves a version from the cache, not the most recent version on the server. Workaround: Load the link in the browser, then hit Ctrl+S (or Cmd+s on Mac) to save the file.
Helper applicaton issues ------------------------ bug 93173: Helper application decision isn't remembered (using Open for non-OS-defined types). bug 154705: User-defined helper apps: app won't launch if "save to disk" is default selection. Tabbed browsing issues ---------------------- bug 151163: Sometimes when you switch to a tab which is still loading a file, the page will appear blank after loading has finished. You can sometimes workaround this by reloading the tab. However, occaisionally crashes will occur when you do this. bug 104778: The URI written in location bars don't persist upon tab switching (empty tab says "about:blank"). That is, the URL is lost when switching tabs if the page hasn't been loaded yet. bug 103398: Tabbed Browser preferences: The content in this pref panel is incorrect for Mac OS. The second section in this panel should be: [checkbox] "Command-click of links in a Web page" [checkbox] "Command-Return in the Location bar" (broken anyhow, see bug 141578) bug 123415: Tabbed Browser preferences: Control+Enter, when ON, should open a URL in a new tab. Remember, however, that with this pref OFF that Control+Enter in the URLbar will NOT load the link in a new window --it'll just load it in the current window. bug 141578: Tabbed Browser preferences: Command+Return on Mac OS X doesn't work at all to open URLs in a new tab (when the pref is ON). bug 144710: Sometimes the application might hang if an invalid url is entered in Open Web Location in New Tab. Download Manager ---------------- bug 139606: The Properties button in the toolbar is only enabled while the download is in progress. Keyboard Navigation ------------------- bug 137523 - Mac OS X: Command+M does not minimize the window.
Download Manager (more!) ---------------- bug 143072: No way to close the Properties-window without canceling the download. bug 142422: Pressing delete key doesn't highlight/select next item in list after deletion.
Tabbed Browsing --------------- bug 151807: New Tab button does not give focus to the URL location bar.
bug 130477 - Double-click on last file in filepicker window opens 2nd file past target file bug 134824 - Column Sorting in the Download Manager has no effect bug 135272 - columns content doesn't flip when setting the UI aligned to the right bug 143344 - Download progress meter is left-to-right when UI is right-to-left
For Mail (biff/notification): See bug 71105. If you don't have a mail window open, Mail Notification won't work (both alerts and the component bar).
http://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=146584 - URLs surrounded by < > are omitted in forwarded plain text messages. Additionally, plain sgml/xml/html tags inserted in a message, for instance when you quote a source, are also omitted. This is the well know problem where html tags are interpreted when doing a forward inline of a plain/text message body into an HTML message compose window.
Bug 158860 in Composer: If you are editing a document in HTML Source edit mode and then you switch back to Normal edit mode and choose Undo, the Undo command becomes disabled after the first use.
bug 142196 - pop mail becomes unusable if the profile is stored on network drive. workaround. create a profile on local hard drive. copy folders from old profile if needed.
bug 144492 If a user adds 'AdSubtract' software while QuickLaunch is running, the browser will crash. The installation process of AdSubtract (which closes popup ads) closes running browsers and it is during that time that our browser crashes.
Bug #128961 (Crash with nVidia graphics cards) is fixed by downloading the latest nVidia drivers from www.nvidia.com.
bug 127182: Helper Applications: The OK button is sometimes not active after going through the Advanced button dialog. As a workaround, try toggling the radiobuttons for Open.../Save (back and forth). If you hit Cancel, however, the helper application dialog will appear fine (OK button enabled) and the mime info you entered via Advanced will be retained too.
bug 130359 - on Mac OS 9 and Mac OS X, turning on 'Use secure connection' for an IMAP server may cause problems getting mail from the server.
For "IMAP Shared Folders" Feature in MachV, Following are known issues: 1) bug 154707: Mac-only: OK and Cancal buttons are missing on Folder Properties dialog when the text is long 2) bug 158046: Same Server/Multiple accounts: Subscribe shared folders in mail message works only one account 3) bug 145120: (Mac only): Main Move/Copy msg menu won't go past 3rd level folders (context, File button will) 4) bug 158016:IMAP URLs get converted to mailto: URLs when "user@server" is part of the URL
More explanation for above IMAP Shared Folders feature known bugs: 1) bug 154707: Mac-only: OK and Cancal buttons are missing on Folder Properties dialog when the text is long This problem is only occurring on the Shared "Read, Write and Manage" Privilege Folder -- since there are more text on that folder dialog, so it makes those two buttons (OK and Cancel)disappear from that dialog. Users need to force quit here. Workaround: Users may go straight to the admin page from mail server for setup "Read, Write and Manage" Privilege Folder. 2) bug 158046: Same Server/Multiple accounts: Subscribe shared folders in mail message works only one account Subscribe shared folders in mail message works only one account of this multiple accounts.(for the same Server in the same profile) 3) bug 145120: (Mac only): Main Move/Copy msg menu won't go past 3rd level folders (context, File button will) Copy/Move menu item won't go past 3rd level folders, so if you select menu item for copying/moving msgs for shared folder -- it won't work, but it works from the context menu (On Mac: Control + Mouse click) 4)bug 158016:IMAP URLs get converted to mailto: URLs when "user@server" is part of the URL After compose and send message by using "Copy Folder Location" functionality The received message with this IMAP URL (w/"user@server")get converted to mailto: URLs. e.g.imap://user@host/foldername e.g.imap://userid@host/Shared%20Folders/User/userid/shared_fdr_name
159990-POP mail: unable to move the same mail mesgs twice in a row by D&D 155281-Moving msgs to local folders when disk space is full results in loss of msgs.
bug 66194: File URLs w/ a UNC path should have 5 slashes bug 122022: File URL's in a network served page (http or https) will not work.
in comment 11, the bug for Tabbed Browsing prefs for Mac should be bug 106398, *not* 103398.
bug 128602 Printing while in print preview disabled on Linux bug 127810 Enable UI for zoom, print, and landscape/postscript, etc on Linux

A Mozilla (Current Version) Release Notes Tracking Bug certainly seems useful to me. Makes it easy for someone editing them to find and fix a bunch of bugs at once, and for bug finders to just add a comment instead of a whole bug. E.g. here's one I found: http://www.mozilla.org/releases/index.html#1.5rc2 , AKA http://www.mozilla.org/releases/#1.5rc2 has a broken link: ftp://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla/releases/mozilla1.5rc2/README can be found at ftp://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla/pub/mozilla/releases/mozilla1.5rc2/README. (Though the reason for this defies logic - It seems the bug is with the ftp server, not the Release Notes, now that I look at the URL that works.) I'm not sure every version of the Notes needs a tracking bug; one would be better. *Most* of these are candidates for being dupes of / merged with such a bug: http://bugzilla.mozilla.org/buglist.cgi?query_format=&short_desc_type=allwordssubstr&long_desc_type=substring&bug_file_loc_type=allwordssubstr&bug_file_loc=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.mozilla.org%2Freleases%2F&status_whiteboard_type=allwordssubstr&keywords_type=allwords&bug_status=UNCONFIRMED&bug_status=NEW&bug_status=ASSIGNED&bug_status=REOPENED&emailassigned_to1=1&emailtype1=exact&emailassigned_to2=1&emailreporter2=1&emailqa_contact2=1&emailtype2=exact&bugidtype=include&chfieldto=Now&field0-0-0=noop&type0-0-0=noop
