I am absolutely furious! 95% of my bookmarks are gone, the bookmarks.htmal file I was told to look for not only opens in IE but it didn't work and the bookmark.bak file can't be opened. I'm going to try a system restore, but if it doesn't work I'm switching to another browser - I've spent a year compiling those bookmarks! And your bug report page isn't very clear - I'm told to "file a bug and make it block the bmo-regressions.bug" but I'm not finding ANY option on this page to do that.

D'Arcy: this bug is about an update to the bugzilla.mozilla.org website, and is completely unrelated to your browser issue. I would suggest http://support.mozilla.com and http://support.mozilla.com/forum/ for help with your problem.

Looking at all the "regressions" and how "painful" viewing/editing bugs has become, I would think this trial of BZ v3.2rc1+ was worth the feedback, but could BMO now get back to its previous UI, until all these bugs are fixed ?

My download of the new version crashed near the end and gave me an error message. I closed my computer and restarted and it did the same thing. I then took the drastic step of removing the version of Firefox I had on my computer, thus all book marks gone and then downloaded Firefox again from the Mozilla site and had the same problem again once the download had completed. I have had no problems with Firefox in the past and now its unuseable, so I now have the misfortune of having to use IE and have lost 2 years of book marks. No very happy at all.

(In reply to comment #3) > but could BMO now get back to its previous UI, until all these bugs are fixed ? This won't happen. The UI and the backend are closely related, and we cannot downgrade Bugzilla. You will have to live with it for now. justdave plans to do an update in the coming hours/days, which will among others fix problems with the keyword chooser and the CC list.

A new version of Thunderbird was just installed by your automatic update (9/5/08). Most of my passwords no longer show up.

As the comments above stated this bug has nothing to do with any kind of client software Mozilla offers, e.g. Firefox and Thunderbird. If you have problems with one of these applications please use http://support.mozilla.com or http://support.mozilla.com/forum/ to get help. Thanks!

(In reply to comment #9) > A new version of Thunderbird was just installed by your automatic update > (9/5/08). > > Most of my passwords no longer show up. Your response was that neither Firefox nor Thunderbird had anything to do with passwords. BS. The passwords I am talking about are through the following new Thunderbird Tree: Tools/Options/Passwords/Edit Saved Passwords I had approximately 50 saved passwords and now I have 5! I am using XP and just installed Thunderbird version 2.0.0.14 (20080421). I was using Thunderbird 1.5.0.1.4.

If this is not the correct way to report what has happened, pass it on. I have tried several ways now to do the right thing in alerting Mozilla what happened and am now giving up!

(In reply to comment #12) > If this is not the correct way to report what has happened, pass it on. I have > tried several ways now to do the right thing in alerting Mozilla what happened > and am now giving up! The present bug report is not about Firefox or Thunderbird, but about bugs in the bug-reporting software itself. If you see bugs in Firefox or Thunderbird, you can report them yourself (by clicking "New" near top left or bottom left of this page), but you ought to check first that your problem hasn't yet been reported, by clicking "Search" then filling in keywords into the tab titled "Find a specific bug". We cannot "pass it on" because we cannot describe, in your own words, what happened to you, nor can we answer further questions by the Fx/Tb developers if the report is not detailed enough.
