Jed, have you tried recent 1.8 branch nightlies? I suspect some of the issues you mention are already fixed, a lot of theme fixes landed after b2.

Thank you Gavin. I didn't think to look in the nightlies right away as usually a beta is released for feedback, so I figured I'd give some ;), never crossed my mind the next day's nightly would already have theme fixes.. I'll check out todays build. Thank you.
